Creating a New Future Through Innovative and Creative Challenges Texas Korea Business Association – TKBA
In 1991, Korean business people in Dallas came together to establish the Dallas Korean Trade Association (DKTA) on Harry Hines Boulevard, an area well known at the time as the red-light district.
Although it was a very challenging environment, with the unique spirit of determination that Koreans are known for, they started as wholesalers and contributed significantly to building the successful business district that exists today.
We extend our gratitude and encouragement to the senior members of the association who, with pioneering spirit, helped cultivate what has become Korea Town over the past 34 years.
As time passed, the business district began to see an influx of various immigrant minority groups, marking the beginning of a new era of competitive coexistence.
On February 15, 2025, DKTA changed its name to the Texas Korea Business Association (TKBA) and committed to a new beginning.
The Association aims to:
First – Promote cross-border business opportunities and cooperation between Korea and Texas.
Second – Work to establish branch offices not only in major cities across Texas but also in Korea and China.
Third – Discover and nurture the next generation of leaders to ensure the continued growth and legacy of the association.
The association’s executives and board members will work together with utmost dedication to serve as a bridge between Texas, Korea, and China—supporting as many business exchanges as possible, serving the local community, and striving to elevate the association’s role as a model nonprofit organization (NPO) with passion and sincerity.
